CSA is an organization that helps Crane students further their education by funding guest artists to visit our school and to send students to music conferences around the world. We also are involved in numerous campus events, working closely with the SUNY Potsdam Student Government Association and many other clubs and organizations around campus. We assemble weekly to discuss our business, so if you would like to become a studio representative, let your studio professor know. If you would like to represent yourself, you can do so by attending 3 consecutive meetings as a non-voting member. You may also come to as many or as few meetings as you'd like as a non-voting member. Please contact any of the 2018-2019 executive board with any questions, concerns, and/or comments or email us at [email protected].
Frequently Asked questions:
Frequently Asked questions:
- How do I become a member of CSA?
There are two ways to become a voting member. The first is to be your studio’s representative. Each studio has one representative who attends meetings and reports information back to the rest of the studio members. If this is something that you are interested in, talk to your studio and let them know that you would like to become representative. The second way to become a voting member is to be your own representative. For this to happen, you must simply attend 3 meetings as a non-voting member. Once your 3 meetings are done, you will be added to the list of representatives in your own name. - What kind of commitment does CSA entail?
CSA has weekly meetings that last around an hour. Outside of meetings, your commitment level depends on you. There will be concerts, events, mixers, and an end of year picnic that CSA will organize. Your attendance at these events is not mandatory, but will be a great time! - How do I request money from CSA?
If you would like to request money from CSA, you will have to fill out a funding request located under the "Funding" tab. Once you fill it out, you can give it to any Executive board member. A packet on how to request funding is also found on that page. Any questions can be emailed to [email protected] or asked directly to any Executive board member. - How do I become a part of the CSA Executive board?
First, become a voting member either through your studio or as your own representative. Come to the meetings, participate, and familiarize yourself with how CSA works. You can always ask questions if aspects of the association confuse you. At the end of the semester you will have the opportunity to run for one of the five positions available (Assistant Treasurer is a two-year commitment). There will be more information about that towards the end of the school year, however if you have any questions before that you are welcome to ask!
